I am a poet and anthropologist. My research and writing explore transnational intimacies, care and precarity in late capitalist and postsocialist contexts, and the mobility of settler colonial formations, with a focus on Central Asia. My work has been supported by the National Science Foundation (USA), Social Science Research Council (USA), Research Ireland, and the Arts Council of Ireland, among other organizations. I received a PhD from Stanford University, BA and MA from Columbia University, and I am currently a Lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh.
